Notice: Measure C Special Election
From June 22 through July 21, the City of Oakland will conduct an all-mail ballot special election. Oakland voters will have the opportunity to provide dedicated funding support to the Oakland Museum of California, as well as the Oakland Zoo and the Chabot Space and Science Center, by voting for Measure C in a special mail-in election this summer. Ballots will be mailed in late June and must be returned by July 21. The City Council voted to place this measure on the ballot in order to ensure a source of stable funding for these vital cultural institutions without additional taxes to City residents. Measure C increases the tax on hotels rooms, so funding will come from the many out-of-the-area visitors that enjoy Oakland’s important cultural attractions. For more information, please refer to the Oakland Voter Ballot Handbook. www.voteyesonmeasurec.com
