Sometimes the little things really do make a big difference. At the Oakland Museum of California, we're excited to be transforming nearly 100,000 square feet of gallery space. But we know that you, our visitors, need to experience the new exhibits and education programs in comfort. That's why we are testing a range of comfortable seating options for the galleries and theatre.
For the Gallery of California Art, we've designed moveable padded furniture that can be endlessly re-arranged to suit our visitors' needs. We're down to the final choices on fabric and color. Senior Curator of Art René de Guzman provided the picture below. He explains, "The round piece is intended for the public to grab and sit in front of their favorite work of art. Use as you will."
