NATURAL SCIENCES GUILD DAY TRIP | Birding the Napa River aboard the Delphinus

May 7, 2012 | 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Many birds feed and nest in the riparian zone along the Napa River. We may see Mallards, Green-winged Teals, mergansers, herons, egrets, and many shorebirds as we make our journey into California's past. After passing through the historic Vallejo and Mare Island waterfronts we'll enter the world of vineyards, backwater homes, and some of the largest contiguous marshes in the Bay Area.

Dolphin Charters trips are run by Bay Area historian, naturalist, and marine biologist Ronn Patterson. With Captain Ronn, we'll get an intimate waterside view of Bay Area landmarks and wildlife and enjoy a lively commentary rich with historical facts and information about the environment and its inhabitants. The trip includes lunch and coffee, tea or hot chocolate as we cruise the river.
