WHITE ELEPHANT SALE

WHITE ELEPHANT SALE

Mar 3 - Mar 4, 2012 | 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The world-famous sale of absolutely everything. The White Elephant Sale has taken one person’s trash and recycled it into someone else’s treasure for more than 50 years. We were green before it was politically correct!

Proceeds from the sale, sponsored by the Oakland Museum Women's Board, support many of the Museum's exhibitions and educational programs.

The White Elephant Sale warehouse is at 333 Lancaster St. (at Glascock), Oakland. Free shuttle bus from Fruitvale BART. Free admission.

The Oakland Museum Women’s Board, a dedicated group of more than 100 year-round volunteers, has raised more than $18 million to support the Oakland Museum of California acquisitions, exhibitions, educational programs, and capital improvements since 1959. The White Elephant Sale is the primary fundraising event of the Oakland Museum Women’s Board. Held annually during the first weekend of March, the Sale attracts a corps of over 1,000 volunteers from around the Bay Area.
