January 1999 to May 2000 Natural Sciences Special Gallery California Underground, Our Caves and Subterranean Habitats was a family-oriented exhibition exploring the varieties and mysteries of California's caves. It allowed the visitors to experience the total darkness of a cave passageway, explore the sport and science of caving through interactive exhibits, learn about cave life and the fantastic ways in which bats are adapted to their dark world, and View 3-D cave photographs and striking images of California caves.   © 1999 Oakland Museum of California |  Credits
