Forums On The Website
OMCA’s
website will sometimes feature unrestricted forums for the exchange
of
ideas. Participants agree to comply with all
requirements and procedures for posting on the website, including
any applicable web policies that the Oakland Museum of California
may provide. OMCA is not in any way responsible or liable for forum
content and claims no proprietary rights of any kind arising from
the posting or distribution of content through these forums. OMCA
does not endorse any opinions or recommendations posted or transmitted.
Any materials posted or transmitted on the website are the responsibility
of the person or persons posting the materials. It is strictly
prohibited to post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, libelous,
defamatory, obscene, pornographic material or any material that
could constitute conduct that would be considered a criminal offense,
give rise to civil liability, be a violation of privacy or publicity,
or otherwise violate any law. OMCA shall reserve the right, but
not the obligation, to remove, refuse, or delete any content for
any reason.
OMCA is under
no obligation to monitor or review discussions, chats, postings,
transmissions, bulletin boards, or other similar materials
on the website and assumes no responsibility or liability arising
from such content or materials or for any error, defamation,
libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography,
danger, or
inaccuracy contained in any information within such locations
on the website.
OMCA’s
discussion boards give users a place to meet, interact, and share
ideas with each other. Just like a real community, you
may have different opinions than other users. The discussion
board experience is best when people abide by a few rules. For
optimal use of OMCA’s forums, some of the key things
to remember are:
- You may not harass, abuse, threaten, or advocate violence against
other members or individuals or groups.
- You may not post content that is harmful to minors.
- You may not post content that is obscene, otherwise objectionable,
or in violation of federal or state law.
- Stay on topic. If you constantly stray from the topic you may be
moderated or removed from a thread altogether.
- You may not use forums for commercial or advertising purposes.
- You may not post content which infringes the intellectual property,
privacy, or other rights of third parties.
- Some content may be more appropriate in some contexts than others.
OMCA reserves the right to remove content that it determines, in
its sole discretion, to be inappropriate or in violation of our
rules.
- If you are unsure whether your content is consistent with these
policies, please err on the side of caution and do not post your
discussion.

Rights & Reproductions
For Rights
and Reproduction inquiries please send an email to rightsrepro@museumca.org
The Oakland Museum of California is undergoing a major
renovation and reinstallation project. During this time our Natural
Science Gallery and selected temporary exhibitions will remain
open while the Art and History Permanent galleries will be closed.
In addition, many of our services will be limited.
Due to staffing limitations during our renovation, our
Rights and Reproductions services will be restricted between
now and the end of 2009. We will be unable to accommodate requests
that require new photography or research. We will review requests
for existing imagery on a case by case basis. The average turn
around time for Rights and Reproductions will be a minimum of
12 weeks.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks
you for your understanding during this very busy time. Privacy
We
are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not sell or
distribute
your personal information to any other organizations. We use the
information we collect about you only to complete your on-line
order,
to provide you with information you request or to offer further
information about Oakland Museum of California. For further information
